Nick Wakeling MP

Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations, Workplace Safety, and Trade

Prior to Nick’s position in the Victorian Parliament, he worked in a variety of industrial relations and human resource roles for the Victorian Government, the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC), the Nillumbik Shire Council and the Adecco Group.

During this period, Nick undertook a variety of tertiary studies at La Trobe University, RMIT and Monash University; which included a master’s degree in industrial and Employee Relations.
In 2006, Nick was elected to the Victorian Parliament as the State Member for Ferntree Gully. Over time, he has held several positions such as Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Community Services, Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Cabinet Secretary.

In March 2014, Nick was appointed as Minister for Higher Education and Skills. After the 2014 election he has held the portfolios of Shadow Minister for Education, Environment, Emergency Services and Child Protection. Nick currently holds the position of Shadow Minister for Industrial Relations and Workplace Safety and Shadow Minister for Trade.
